Moving house can be a daunting experience but we try to make that process as seamless and painless as possible. At Braithwait we have a number of high end, furnished properties across London for both rental and purchase. We are determined to provide unique, vibrant homes in culture rich neighbourhoods so that you can relax and just enjoy your surroundings and really make ties and immerse in the area.
We have over 17 years experience in the London property market, which really is a world of its own compared to the rest of the UK. We have a dedicated and expert team of designers, marketers and developers who all have a shared vision of bringing the best properties to the market. We collaborate to identify the right property for our portfolio and our clients and use our contacts to bring it to fruition and one such property is on Blomfield Road London Little Venice.
Braithwait may be a touch biased as Stuart, the owner and his wife Catherine Braithwaite actually have family ties in this very neighbourhood going back to 1808 when the Braithwaite family actually resided in the old Manor House whose grounds covered much of the Sutherland Avenue up to Harrow Road. However, biase aside Little Venice has a lot to get excited about and is a wonderful part of West London.
Our clients want to enjoy the local surroundings and what better way to do that than to try the abundance of fantastic restaurants right on your doorstep? Little Venice is home to some of the most exquisite restaurants in London. From classic Italian cuisine to contemporary British dishes, there’s something here for every taste and budget. Here are 3 of our favourites:
1. The Waterway – This modern eatery serves up delicious seafood dishes as well as an excellent selection of wine. The outdoor seating area overlooks the historic canals of Little Venice, making it a great spot for lunch or dinner.
2. La Gondola – This quaint Italian restaurant offers some of the best Italian fare in London. With traditional dishes like lasagna and pizza, as well as their signature desserts, this is definitely a must-try in Little Venice.
3. The Bridge – This cosy gastropub serves up some of the best British pub grub around. Try the signature fish and chips or one of their famous burgers for a hearty meal after exploring Little Venice’s attractions.
If you are coming to London from outside you may be concerned with crime and seeing reports on rising knife crime and other crimes in the city, especially as the amount of people living in London continues to increase.
Fortunately, the crime rate in Little Venice is relatively low compared to other parts of London. The Metropolitan Police Service states that there were 107 reported violent crimes and 14 reported burglaries in Little Venice during 2020, the last reported year. This puts Little Venice among one of the safest areas in London. In fact, according to police figures, the area has seen a decrease in reported crime over the past few years, so it’s becoming even safer.
There are also plenty of attractions for you to enjoy in Little Venice. Visit the gardens at St Mary’s Church and take a stroll along the canal path, and even hire a boat to cruise the canals. Be sure to check out the local shops, pubs and restaurants too! There are also some great art galleries in the area, such as the Canal Cafe Theatre and the Puppet Theatre Barge, which both offer an eclectic mix of shows, performances and events. There are also many great green spaces just a stones throw away such as Regents Park.
Little Venice is very well connected by public transport links. The closest tube station is Warwick Avenue (Bakerloo Line) and Westbourne Park (Hammersmith City, Circle Lines). There are also plenty of bus routes to connect to North London and the nearest train station is London Paddington, which connects to several other cities in the UK meaning a day out or weekend away is also simple.
